Nine refugees have been found in a truck trailer in the South East.

Nine refugees have been found in a truck trailer in the South East.

It is understood the truck had disembarked from a ferry from France at Rosslare Port.

The nine adult men were discovered at around 3.30pm this afternoon, in New Ross.

They have been taken to University Hospital Waterford for medical assessment, but none of the men is understood to be injured.

It is not yet known where the group is from.

The Garda Immigration Bureau in Wexford is investigating.
