Nightclub owners seek extension of opening hours
14/04/2005 - 08:10:36Nightclub owners are reportedly seeking an extension of opening hours to allow them to serve alcohol until 3.30am.
Reports this morning said the Nightclub Owners Association of Ireland was planning to seek the extension in a submission to Justice Minister Michael McDowell next week.
The reports said the organisation was claiming that a Circuit Court decision yesterday effectively allowed certain clubs with theatre licences to serve drinks until 3.30am.
The nightclub owners are reportedly arguing that this makes it harder for them to compete on a level playing field.
