Gardaí say they are concerned for the welfare of a woman, who gave birth to a baby which was found abandoned in south Co Dublin this afternoon.
Gardaí and an ambulance were called to Rathcoole this afternoon, where the newborn baby girl was discovered alone.
Gardaí say they attended the scene of a medical incident at Steelstown Road in Rathcoole, where the infant was discovered close to a business premises.

The child was tended to at the scene by medical staff and gardaí.
She was taken to Tallaght Hospital where her condition is described as stable.
Superintendent Brendan Connolly of Clondalkin Garda station said that gardaí are concerned for the welfare of the mother of the child and are appealing for her to seek immediate medical treatment and to contact Gardaí who are anxious to reunite her with her baby.
