The National Roads Authority has advised motorists that it has just opened the Dublin side of the new M3 motorway.

The country's newest motorway stretches through Co Meath for 60 kilometres from Clonee to Kells near the Cavan border.

It by-passes the grid-locked Towns of Dunshaughlin, Navan and Kells.

The NRA says any motorists wishing to drive from Dublin this afternoon can now use the newly opened lanes.
