New blood donor drive launched in partnership with churches

A new campaign aimed at increasing the number of blood and organ donors across Ireland is being rolled out.

The cross border partnership - between churches and health services - is being launched to highlight the need for more blood and organ donations.

The "Flesh and Blood Ireland" initiative will be launched by the two Archbishops of Armagh in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin later this afternoon.

Canon Shane Forster said the initiative aims to mobilise churches to increase the number of blood and organ donors across Ireland.
