NCT ordered to hand over report to Cork accident victim's mother
The Road Safety Authority has intervened on behalf of a Cork mother who was looking for the NCT report on the car her daughter was driving when she died.
Amanda O'Flaherty (aged 26) died in a two-car crash in Cobh on December 29, 2012.
Gardaí found her car was unroadworthy with defects in its rear suspension.
Her mother, Paula Murphy, says her daughter was driving a "death-trap" and she believes the NCT report will shed light on the cause of the crash.
The Road Safety Authority has now instructed the NCT to issue the report to her.
She told RedFM News today that she is happy her efforts have paid off.
"I'm actually surprised I got the call, just a while ago from the RSA," she said.
"And the lady I spoke to apologised profusely about the way that I've been treated
"Just for the sake of one document
"There was times when I felt: 'Is this ever going to end?'
"Every door was closed in my face, but thank God my patience paid off."
