Navy detain French fishing vessel off Cork coast


The Naval Service has detained a French registered fishing vessel off the coast of Cork, for alleged breaches of technical fishing regulations.

The detention was made last night near Castletownbere.

The vessel is currently under escort by the Navel vessel the L.É. RÓISÍN to Cork and is expected to arrive later this evening.

The vessel will then be handed over to the Gardaí.
