A €26m refurbishment is getting underway at the National Gallery of Ireland.

280 jobs will be supported over the two year lifetime of the project.

The work, which coincides with the 150th anniversary of the National Gallery, includes the repair and restoration of the Dargan and Milltown wings, as well as the Merrion Entrance.

A bigger exhibition space will be created and Victorian features will be restored.
