Naas taxi driver Martin Burke is celebrating after winning the largest sum ever won on a National Lottery TV game show.
54-year-old Martin can be seen claiming the €1,018,000 winnings on this Saturday’s Million Euro Challenge gameshow on RTÉ One.
Martin, known as Archie to his friends and family, amazingly predicted the win on the show in a poem he wrote last March and two weeks later he got three stars on his scratch card, which he then sent into the show.
The Naas man, who has been a taxi driver for 15 years, married his wife Kathleen 36 year ago and they have four children as well as six grandchildren.
Speaking on the win the show’s host Nicky Byrne was over the moon for Martin.
"I'm delighted that Martin won the jackpot on Million Euro Challenge. This is what we've been building towards since the beginning of the series and I'm thrilled to be part of such an exciting experience, "said Byrne.
Martin was joined on the show by his son Martin Jr and now plans to share the winnings with his family.
