Murderer tells victim's family: I'll be back21/05/2012 - 12:57:51
There have been dramatic scenes in court today at the conviction of a 40-year-old Dublin man for the murder of Adel Essalhi.
Wayne Kinsella with an address at The Plaza, Tyrrelstown, told members of the Essalhi family: 'I guarantee I'll be back' as he was sentenced to life in prison for the killing on January 6, last year.
There were heated scenes in the packed court as an old friend of Adel Essalh's jeered Wayne Kinsella as he was jailed for life.
"I guarantee I'll be back," said the 40-year-old before prison officers led him away.
It took the jury two and a half hours to convict him of murdering Mr Essalhi, who was struck almost 60 times with a machete-type weapon and a knife in fields around Tyrellstown.
The prosecution's case was that Wayne Kinsella and a relative lured the 29-year-old to his death having thought that Essalhi had been involved in the death of Wayne's brother Lee.
Kinsella is a former partner of 'scissor sister' killer Linda Mulhall and has around 39 previous convictions, including manslaughter and cruelty to children.
In victim impact evidence, Adel Essalhi's mother Geraldine said the family has been left with a very big wound that won't heal.
