A convicted murderer has escaped from prison staff during a hospital visit in County Down.

A convicted murderer has escaped from prison staff during a hospital visit in County Down.

Thomas Valliday from Maghaberry prison, made off from prison service staff while at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald this afternoon.

Police are warning the public not to approach the 27-year-old.

Frank McGreevy

He was jailed in 2010 and told he'd serve at least 17 years for battering 51-year-old Frank McGreevy to death in Belfast, while high on drink and drugs.
