A Dublin man awaiting trial for the murder of his wife’s son has been refused an application to travel to Spain for two weeks.
Last year, David Mahon of Ongar Village in Clonsilla returned from Spain to face prosecution in connection with Dean Fitzpatrick’s death.
The 23-year-old was a brother of Amy Fitzpatrick who has not been seen since leaving a friend’s house on the Costa del Sol in January 2008.
Dean was stabbed to death in an apartment on the Malahide Road in Dublin two years ago.
Mr Mahon was allowed travel to Spain in September, but his latest application was refused due to Garda concerns he may not come back.
Under his bail conditions, Mr Mahon must sign on at a Garda station three times a week and relinquish his passport. His trial is due to start in April 2016.
