The Labour Court is to hear from both sides in the Marks and Spencer dispute on Friday.
2,300 workers at the company held a one day strike on Saturday December 7 in a row over changes to the pension scheme and a reduction in holiday and Sunday pay. 15 Marks and Spencer stores were closed as a result of the action.
It is hoped Friday's discussions can avert another planned day of industrial action on Friday December 20.
Mandate Assistant General Secretary Gerry Light said tomorrow's planned one day strike is being deferred, pending the Labour Court talks.
