Motorists warned of hazardous driving conditions
Gardaí have advised motorists to take extra care on the roads today as heavy rain continues to affect many parts of the country.
Flash flooding and surface water are making conditions hazardous for drivers, with the N7 and the N4 badly affected.
There are a number of major sporting and cultural events taking place today and people are being advised to leave plenty of time to reach their destination.
According to Met Éireann, however, the weather is expected to improve later today.
