A man has died after his motorbike was in a collision with a construction vehicle in Co Carlow last night.

A man has died after his motorbike was in a collision with a construction vehicle in Co Carlow last night.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co. Carlow on the 21st September 2014.

The 27-year-old man died in the collision that happened at around 8.50pm last night on the R724 at Ballymoon, near Muine Bheag.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The driver of the construction vehicle, a male aged in his 30s, was uninjured.

The road is closed to traffic and diversions are in place. Garda forensic collision investigators will carry out a technical examination at the scene this morning.
