Mother-of-six claims landlord pushed her during eviction

A mother of six who claims she was illegally evicted from her home in West Dublin has told a hearing she was physically assaulted by her landlord while alone in the house.

Abadat Adigun has been the sole witness so far at an appeals tribunal by the Private Residential Tenancies Board between her family and landlord Eugene McKeever.

Adigun says around €1,500 rent is still outstanding on 173 The Boulevard, Tyrellstown in Blanchardstown.

She told the hearing her husband John lost his job days after the family moved in to the house last December but claims McKeever didn't want to know.

In January, she said he served them with a notice of termination for February 6 but when that date came round they had nowhere to go.

She claims the following Sunday she was alone when Mr McKeever assaulted her and locked her out of the house in her pyjamas having entered the property with two other men by way of a ladder.

She said her husband was subsequently arrested while trying to get their property back and that some of their stuff including her gold jewellery has still not been returned.
