A mother and her eight-year-old daughter are recovering from an aggravated burglary at their home in Howth this morning.

A mother and her eight-year-old daughter are recovering from an aggravated burglary at their home in Howth this morning.

Four men entered the house, two at the front door and two at the rear, they threatened and demanded money from the woman of the house.

One man was armed with a nail bar.

The mother (aged in her mid 40s) and daughter were uninjured.

The men made off with a sum of money and escaped with the owners car, which was abandoned a short time later in Howth village.

No arrests have yet been made.

Gardaí Howth are appealing for witnesses or any persons who may have seen activity in the area of Casana View this morning between 8.30-9.30am to contact them on 01 - 6664900, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
