It seems the vast majority of Irish motorists think they're the cut above the rest when it comes to their driving skills.

According to a new survey, 70% of motorists consider their driving as above average.

The survey of 15,000 drivers by AA Motor Insurance reveals that young men have the biggest egos, with 86% of men aged between 17 and 24 thinking that their driving abilities are excellent, despite being some of the least experienced drivers on our roads.

An examination of the results county by county, identifies Laois, Roscommon, Westmeath and Limerick motorists as most likely to consider themselves first-rate drivers.
