More than 15,000 jobs were created by IDA-backed companies in Ireland last year.

When job losses are factored in, the net increase in employment was 7,131, which is one of the highest levels in a decade.

Just under 200 investments were made during 2014 - a 20% improvement on the previous year.

Amazon, LinkedIn, PayPal and Air Bnb were just some of the international companies that invested in their Irish operations last year.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said: "These are the best job-creation number in a decade. Purchases by IDA companies in the last four years have increased by €4bn, so that's (also) having a huge knock-on effect in the wider economy."
