It is claimed today that more young people have come forward alleging they were contacted by former TD Patrick Nulty.

Mr Nulty resigned from his Dublin West seat on Saturday night after admitting sending messages to a 17-year-old girl over Facebook while under the influence of alcohol.

It is understood Gardaí are launching an investigation into the matter.

The Sunday World's Alan Sherry, who broke the story, says since it was published more allegations have come forward.
