Moneygall celebrates anniversary of Obama visit

Moneygall is today marking the first anniversary of the visit of US President Barack Obama.

The US President called to his ancestral home on May 23, 2011, putting the Offaly village on a world stage.

Since then, tourists have been flocking to Moneygall.

A mini festival is taking place today to mark the occasion, and staff from the US embassy will officially open the house where Obama's relatives lived.
