Minister for Transport under pressure to act on Dublin Bus strikes

The Minister for Transport has been accused as being a political cretin as Dublin Bus drivers mount pickets again this morning.

The company says if the action continues - it will be in a loss making position by the end of this year.

So far multiple strike days has cost Dublin Bus €4m with 14 more days of strike action due to take place.

Earlier this week Minister Shane Ross said he can't be a 'sugar daddy' for the transport industry - it is a statement bus driver Bill McClement isn't happy with: "I would describe that as political cretinism, because he is the minister responsible for public transport.

"We are not asking him to open the chequebook, what we are asking him to do is to broker some kind of arrangement where the two sides can get together."
