Minister announces €8.3m transport investment for Cork
A total of €8.3m worth of sustainable transport investment projects for Cork City and suburbs.
Minister for Public & Commuter Transport Alan Kelly made the announcement this morning.
The funding, which is part of the regional cities sustainable transport programme, will go towards improving the walking, cycling and public transport experience for city commuters.The Public Expenditure Minister says every citizen must benefit from the deal on the bad debts of Anglo with an easing of the austerity.
Brendan Howlin's told the Dáil there must be a "social dividend" to the liquidation of the I-B-R-C and reworking of the promissory notes so the money doesn't have to be paid next month.
There'll be a billion euro benefit to putting off payment until 2038.
