Minister announces €5 early registration fee for septic tank owners
Environment Minister Phil Hogan has today announced that charges to be levied on owners of septic tanks will be lower than expected.
Minister Hogan has revealed that the registration fee for septic tanks will be reduced to €5 for the first three months, down from the proposed €50.
The move is an attempt to reward those who register early, from this June.
The deadline for registration is March 2013.
Minister Hogan said that the new measures are part of a practical approach that will be applied to the inspection of tanks also.
