Microsoft to host Dublin careers event

Microsoft is to host a careers event at its campus in Dublin today.

The company is offering people interested in pursuing a career in cloud sales the opportunity to meet with prospective employers as well as academic institutions that are providing what Microsoft calls "dedicated training that will provide industry-ready skills".

Small and medium business director at Microsoft, Martin Cullen, said you do not need a background in IT to apply for these courses.

He said there will be jobs for those who complete the training.

"There is quite definitively 60 jobs on the sales side because that is the amount of specific places we have," he said.

"On the technical side we have actually got more and ultimately that will be defined by the amount of people that will probably turn up and get placed

"There is quite a bit of capacity there and strong opportunity for people I don't have an exact number but suffice to say its significant and it would be well in excess of the 60."
