Independent TD Mick Wallace says he will co-operate with the Gardaí over allegations he made about Nama deals under Dáil privilege yesterday.
However, the Wexford TD is refusing a call to attend a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee to answer further questions on the matter, as he believes the PAC is not designed to deal with the complex matters he has raised.
Deputy Wallace told South East Radio he thinks a sworn commission of investigation is needed.
Mr Wallace said: "I really wish the Government would initiate the impending Commission of Investigation now rather than later.
"There are still a lot of assets to be sold, loan portfolios to be sold. There's a fortune to be saved if things were done better in the future.
"Apart from the fact that we need to get to the truth of what happened already. Listen, the horse hasn't bolted, there's still a lot of property to be dealt with."
