Michael Lowry has lost legal challenge against Moriarty tribunal decision
Independent TD Michael Lowry has lost his legal challenge against the Moriarty tribunal’s decision not to award him full costs for his participation.
He was only given a third of his costs after it was decided the former Minister for Communications did not co-operate fully.
He claimed he fully co-operated with the 14-year tribunal - to such an extent that it impacted on his life, health, employment and family.
However, the High Court ruled against him today because of his failure to demonstrate any "unreasonableness or discrimination" in the tribunal’s decision.
