Mandatory energy rating from today
01/01/2009 - 12:36:16The national energy rating system is being extended to all homes for sale or rent from today.
All such homes will have to get a Building Energy Rating (BER) which assesses how energy efficient it is.
The BER - issued by Sustainable Energy Ireland - is valid for ten years.
