Gardaí record 389 drink-driving incidents last week

Up to 389 drink-driving incidents were recorded in the week leading up to St Patrick's Day, according to Garda statistics released this afternoon.

The figure compares to 346 incidents in the previous week.

A Garda spokesman confirmed enforcement activities in the area of road safety would continue as part of the 2008 Road Safety Campaign.
