Donegal Co Council to axe 71 jobs
19/11/2008 - 12:07:06Donegal Co Council has confirmed plans to shed 71 frontline jobs as part of a cost-cutting move.
The workers have been told that their contracts will not be renewed when they expire.
The lay-offs are believed to have been prompted by a reduction in central government funding and a directive to the county manager that he must cut his wage bill by 3%.
