Met Éireann issues flash flood warning for parts of Munster and Leinster
Met Éireann has issued a weather warning for parts of Munster and Leinster.
Spells of heavy rain are expected to give more than 25mm of rain locally.
The status yellow warning which was issued today advised people to be aware of the heavy rainfall ahead which is expected to last until at least Thursday.
According to the national weather forecaster thundery downpours can be expected in parts of Leinster, especially overnight.
Meanwhile rainfall in Munster is expected to increase and become persistent overnight.
A status yellow marine 'small craft warning' is also in effect for seafarers.
