Meeting between Government and Tallaght Hospital chief ends

The Government says it has yet to establish all the facts in the x-ray scandal at Tallaght Hospital in Dublin.

A meeting between the Department of Health and the CEO of the hospital has ended this afternoon - they were discussing how 58,000 x-rays went unreported over a five-year period.

The Opposition has asked for more time to debate the matter in the Dáil and for clarification on claims that GP referral letters are still lying unopened at Tallaght.
