Medical group may buy Mount Carmel

There's new hope for Mount Carmel Hospital.

The private hospital, which specialised in maternity services and non-emergency elective surgery, closed on Friday 31st January with debts of around 39 million euro.

It resulted in the loss of over 300 jobs.

The Sunday Business Post reports that an Irish group, RAS medical, has made an approach to buy the facility.

The group owns the Park West Clinic, Auralia Cosmetic Services, Limerick Laser Centre and a Pharmacy.
