Bettystown Beach in Co Meath has been given the all clear.

Bettystown Beach in Co Meath has been given the all clear.

Meath County Council has said the latest round of tests of the water off the coast of the beach indicate that the water is clear of all bacteria.

Samples of water tested on Monday had shown it contained elevated levels of bacteria including e-coli.

The council had said the advice not to swim there, which was issued on Wednesday, nolonger applies.

It is good news for Bettystown as the warm sunny weather is set to continue over the weekend.
