McCreevy expresses doubts over VHI regulation
19/01/2010 - 07:33:44EU Commissioner Charlie McCreevy has expressed doubts about whether the VHI will ever be fully regulated.
In December, Health Minister Mary Harney gave the insurance company more time to get capital together before it comes under the remit of the Financial Regulator, the deadline for which has now been set for March 31.
According to the Irish Times, Commissioner McCreevy has written to Minister Harney criticising the decision, and reminding the Government of their legal obligations.
