The Prime Minister of Mauritius is to invite Gardaí and the PSNI to help in the investigation into the murder of Michaela McAreavey.
Dr Navin Ramgoolam also told the country's parliament today that the publication of photographs of the newlywed's body by a local newspaper was "one of the most despicable methods of abuse and breach of the right to freedom of expression".
He is now writing a letter to the PSNI and Gardaí inviting them to help with the investigation after two men were acquitted of the killing last week.
Justice Minister Alan Shatter has said, although the request has not yet been received, the response is likely to be favourable:
