Matricide trial of Dublin man sees grave footage

The trial of a Dublin man accused of murdering his mother in Scotland has been shown time lapse footage of experts removing her dismembered remains from a shallow grave.

A forensic archeologist has told of how Philomena Dunleavy appeared to have been given a Christian burial with her remains facing east.

40-year-old James also known as Seamus Dunleavy denies murdering his 66-year-old mother, cutting up her body and taking her, in a suitcase, to bury on Corstorphine Hill in Edinburgh.

The trial is continuing at the High Court in Edinburgh.
