The right-to-die campaigner Marie Fleming will be laid to rest today.
The 59-year-old, who suffered with multiple sclerosis, passed away in the arms of her partner Tom at her home in Co. Wicklow on Friday morning.
She took a case to the Supreme Court earlier this year challenging the ban on assisted suicide, arguing that it breached her constitutional right to die and discriminated against her as a disabled person.
However, she lost the case.
Her funeral service will take place at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Castlemacadam at 2pm.
She will be buried afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.
