Marie Fleming laid to rest

The funeral is taking place in Co. Wicklow of right-to-die campaigner Marie Fleming.

The 59-year-old, who suffered from multiple sclerosis, lost a landmark Supreme Court case earlier this year when she tried to challenged the ban on assisted suicide.

She argued that it breached her constitutional right to die and discriminated against her as a disabled person.

Her funeral service is being held at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Castlemacadam, Co Wicklow.

Chief Celebrant for today's service is Reverend Canon George Butler.
