The body of a man has been taken from the River Suir in Waterford City.

The body of a man has been taken from the River Suir in Waterford City.

Emergency services recovered the man, believed to be in his 20s, below the Tower Hotel at around 8.45am today.

His remains have been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.

Gardaí are investigating the incident.
