Gardaí seek man with possible 'blood stained' top after body found in Dublin flat

Update 8.50pm: Gardaí investigating the death of a man at a house on South Circular Road this afternoon are appealing for witnesses.

The dead man is in his 20s and is an Irish national.

His body has been taken to the City Morgue, where a post mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow.

Another man in his 20s remains in St James' Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for a third man, also in his 20s, seen leaving the house at about 3.20pm, to contact them.

This man is described as 5'6'', thin build and wearing a dark top which may have been blood stained.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 666 9400.

Earlier: A man's body has been found in a flat on Dublin's South Circular Road.

The man, who was in his 30s, was discovered after gardaí were called to an incident at a house close to the junction with Bloomfield Avenue this afternoon.

Detectives found a second man with injuries on the road nearby. He has been taken to St James' Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The two scenes are being forensically examined and a third scene nearby has been sealed off.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who was in the South Circular Road/Bloomfield Avenue this afternoon between 3pm and 4pm to contact Kevin Street Garda Station.

The office of the State Pathologist has been informed.
