Man’s body found after apparent shooting in Limerick city

Gardaí in Limerick are investigating the death of a man following an apparent shooting in Limerick city.

The man's body was found on waste ground at Ash Avenue in John Carew Park just before 2am this morning.

The victim was in his 20s and from Limerick.

Gardaí say he appears to have suffered a gunshot wound.

The scene where his body was found has been sealed off for technical examination and a post mortem is also due to be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.
