A man was being questioned by gardaí today after cannabis plants and herb worth €500,000 were seized during a series of raids.
Gardaí swooped on a premises in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath, on Monday evening where a cannabis-growing operation was discovered, along with 340 plants.
In a follow-up search the next day, the officers from the National Drugs Unit, backed up by local gardaí, raided two other properties in the same area.
Some 450 plants were discovered in the first search at Culmullin, Dunshaughlin, as well as 10kg of processed cannabis herb. And at Hallstown, also in Dunshaughlin, a further 150 plants were found.
The toal seizure is estimated to have a street value of €500,000.
A 54-year-old Vietnamese man was arrested in Hallstown and is being held at Kells Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act.
