Two men have been taken to hospital this morning after a fishing vessel capsized off the coast of Co Waterford.

Two men have been taken to hospital this morning after a fishing vessel capsized off the coast of Co Waterford.

One of the men who had been on board the 16-foot angling vessel managed to make it to shore and raise the alarm at 7.45am.

Two local lifeboats attended the scene, while the Waterford-based search and rescue helicopter took a the second man from the water at around 8.40am.

He was transferred to an ambulance at Waterford Airport and taken to hospital.

His condition is not yet known.
