A man has come before Dublin District Court charged with a cash-in-transit robbery.

A man has come before Dublin District Court charged with a cash-in-transit robbery.

48-year-old Dermot O'Callaghan, of Seagull House, Crumlin Road, was arrested shortly after the incident on Dublin's Cork Street yesterday evening.

Staff of the cash-in-transit van were threatened during the robbery and one employee suffered minor injuries.

A sum of money and a firearm were recovered.

Mr O'Callaghan was remanded in custody to appear in court at a later date.
