Man killed, one seriously hurt in Clare crash

One man has died and another is in a critical condition in hospital after a single vehicle crash in Co Clare.

One man has died and another is in a critical condition in hospital after a single vehicle crash in Co Clare.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened about three miles outside Ennis on the Ennis to Tulla road at Clooney Church, shortly before 8pm last night.

The two male occupants were seriously injured in the crash and were taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

A 32-year-old man later died from his injuries, while another man - believed to be in his 20s - remains in a critical condition.

The road is closed this morning for a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
