Man killed in single-vehicle collision in Cork

A man in his 50s has been killed in a road crash in Co Cork.

A man in his 50s has been killed in a road crash in Co Cork.

He died when the car he was driving struck a tree on the N72 at Dromagh at around 10am this morning.

He was in the car on his own at the time, and no-one else was injured.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem is to take place tomorrow.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
