A man has been killed in a crash in Co Limerick.

A man has been killed in a crash in Co Limerick.

The single-vehicle crash happened at Ballincolly, Kilmallock, Co Limerick at about 1.30am today.

The car had only one occupant - a man in his 50s. He was fatally injured when his car collided with a ditch.

His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital and gardaí at Charleville, Co Cork are investigating.

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí wish to appeal for witnesses to contact Charleville Garda Station on 063-21770, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
