A 51-year-old man has died in a crash in Co Galway.

A 51-year-old man has died in a crash in Co Galway.

The man, who was a pedestrian, died after he was hit by a car at Kylebrack East, Loughrea at around 9pm last night.

He was taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

No one else was injured in the incident.

Gardaí at Ballinasloe are appealing for witnesses.
