Man injured in shooting incident

A 19-year-old man has suffered a leg injury in a shooting incident in Limerick City.

The incident happened at around 9.20pm last night in the Ballynanty area of the city’s northside.

The victim was taken to the Mid-West Regional Hospital but his injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives at the Limerick’s Mayorstone garda station are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and appealed for witnesses.
